Terms

The rules for using the PasCalculator, the app and Cal.

Last updated October 28, 2026

1. Who can use it

You must be 13 or older to use the app and Cal. If you're under the age of majority where you live (19 in British Columbia), a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you, and is responsible for purchases. The calculator itself works for anyone.

2. What the PasCalculator is

A scientific calculator with Cal, an AI helper that reads problems and explains the steps. Exact arithmetic is done by the calculator's own maths engine. Cal's explanations are written by AI and can be wrong. Always check important work.

3. School and exams

Follow your school's rules. Many exams don't allow calculators with wireless or a camera, including BC provincial assessments and the SAT. The PasCalculator is a study and homework tool, not an exam calculator.

4. Fair use

Daily limits for Cal are shown in the app. Automated or abusive use can be slowed or stopped.

5. Plans and renewals

6. Your content

You own your questions and photos. You let us use them only to answer you and run the PasCalculator (see Privacy). Don't upload other people's private information.

7. Updates

The calculator and app get updates over wifi. Some updates may be needed for Cal to keep working. The calculator keeps working offline as a scientific calculator even if Cal ever stops.

8. Don't misuse it

No breaking into our servers, other people's calculators, or the maintenance mode. No reselling access to Cal.

9. Open-source parts

The PasCalculator uses open-source software. The list of licences will be on this website to be confirmed.

10. Liability

Nothing here takes away rights you have by law as a consumer. Apart from those, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months to be confirmed.

11. Changes

We tell you in the app before important changes to these terms apply.

12. Law

The laws of British Columbia, Canada to be confirmed, without removing consumer rights you have where you live. In Quebec, these terms will also be available in French.
